Her lifelong journey with plant medicines and indigenous ceremonies brings a shamanic, visionary, and ceremonial dimension to her teaching style within this modality. She is known for creating a safe, attuned, and supportive learning environment where students can develop both technical skills and authentic presence. Her approach emphasizes deep listening, subtle perception, and respect for the inherent intelligence of the body. She is devoted to guiding students not only in becoming skilled practitioners but also in cultivating the clarity, confidence, and presence to hold space for others in meaningful and lasting ways.
Teaching Philosophy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is not only a professional modality; it is a way of being. This work has profoundly transformed my life, far beyond the treatment room. It has shaped how I show up in my relationships, how I parent, and how I move through the world with greater presence, steadiness, and trust in the body’s inherent intelligence and the interconnectedness of the universe. In my teaching, I emphasize that true skill arises not only from technique but from the practitioner’s capacity to be present, grounded, and attuned. It is from this place that meaningful and lasting healing can occur. Over the years, I have witnessed deep and powerful transformations in both my clients and students. This is what continues to inspire my passion for teaching and for sharing this work in a way that is accessible, embodied, and rooted in integrity. I am devoted to supporting the growth of practitioners who can meet others with clarity, compassion, and skill, contributing to a wider field of healing one heart, one session and one person at a time.

"The Breath of Life is a divine presence that can only be appreciated in a state of stillness and unknowing."
Franklyn Sills
“Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a transpersonal practice the Breath of Life. It carries the intention to incarnate the essence of creation. It is a prayer performed each time I touch a client. It is prayer of wonder and awe at the mystery of healing and the preciousness of having a body.”
Micheal Shea

With a deep love and admiration for movement as a form of expressing my relationship with life, I became a dancer, movement therapist, and teacher for “Dance Alive” in my twenties and thirties. Influenced by the healing arts of Chinese Medicine, Aura Soma, and Homeopathy, I switched to the medical field, trained in Physiotherapy and Osteopathy. My receptivity and perception of the inner movement in a human living system began to refine. I landed in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, trained with Ged Summer, founder of the Body Intelligence program in Berkeley, with various teachers in Germany, and with my mentor, Klaus Poschmann, for Cranial Sacral Osteopathy. My dance practice deepened inward through the Continuum Movement with Susan Harper. Ongoing inquiry into the existence of the inner and outer movement and its connective dynamics within us and in connectivity to our surrounding field created a perceptual structure for my sessions and my interactions with life. I share this love in my teaching of perceptual reception: The awareness of the vastness of our senses translated into dynamics, as a perceptual tool for connecting, receiving, and translating information through our hands, our full body receptivity, and our cognitive and intuitive capacities. Presence will be the driving force to perceive the immediacy of the experience, to orient between assumptions, accumulated knowledge, and present experience. Dellena will share her vast knowledgae of aanatomy and will lead students into meaningful experiential exercises .

As a Somanaut for 35 years, Continuum and CranioSacral have been the most impactful and foundational practices for Uma’s wellbeing and growth. The Somatic healing practice of Continuum helps to inform and deepen the study of Biodynamic Cranio-sacral therapy. Through experiential movement dives, we will swim in subtle currents, emergent tides and ripples of remembering.. our nature as fluid and ever emerging. The forces of embryogenesis are still present within us. We get to discover and embody the living dynamics that continue to renew and restore health.
